Privacy Policy

Betty Studio Inc. ("Betty Studio", "we", "us") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and your rights under Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable provincial privacy law.

1. Who we are

2. Information we collect

  • Information you give us — when you submit a project enquiry, sign a contract, or correspond with us, we collect your name, email, phone, company name, and the contents of the messages you send us.
  • Project information — for active client engagements we collect what you choose to share with us: brand assets, customer research, business documents, etc.
  • Website usage — basic, privacy-friendly analytics via Plausible Analytics. We do not use cookies that track you across other sites.

3. How we use your information

  • To respond to your project enquiry.
  • To carry out the work agreed in our contract.
  • To issue invoices and meet our tax obligations.
  • To send our quarterly studio newsletter — only if you opted in.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use it for advertising. We do not share it with third parties except as described in Section 4.

4. Service providers

We use Stripe (invoicing & payments), Postmark (email), Notion (project documentation, with client permission), Figma (design files, with client permission), and Plausible Analytics (privacy-friendly website analytics). All providers are bound by data processing agreements.

5. Confidentiality of client work

Everything you share with us about your business, your customers, your strategy or your plans is treated as strictly confidential. We sign mutual NDAs at no charge if you want one. Public case studies are only published with your written approval and we will hide commercially sensitive details on request.

6. Cookies

We use one strictly necessary cookie (to remember your cookie preference) and an optional analytics cookie via Plausible. You can choose "Essential only" on our cookie banner.

7. How long we keep information

Project files are kept for 3 years after the close of an engagement, then archived for 4 more years to meet CRA requirements. Enquiry emails are deleted after 12 months if they don't lead to a project. Newsletter subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe.

8. Your rights

Under PIPEDA you may request access to the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, withdraw consent, and complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada. Email [email protected] — we'll respond within 30 days.

9. Security

This site is served exclusively over HTTPS. Project files are stored in encrypted, access-controlled cloud workspaces. Two-factor authentication is required on every account we use.

10. Children

Our services are aimed at businesses and not at individuals under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

11. Changes

We will update this page if our practices change. Material changes will be highlighted on the home page for 30 days.
